Steamed Chicken Green Bowl with Avocado Dressing

Supercharge your healthy eating plan this New Year with imaginative meals that include lean protein for sustained energy, healthy plant fats and loads of crunchy veggies for all the vitamins and fibre your body needs – naturally. Our steamed chicken green bowl shows you just how easy and tasty healthy can be!

What you will need

  • 2 steamed chicken breasts
  • 1 ripe avocado, cut into smallish blocks
  • 2 cups raw baby spinach leaves
  • An eighth of a cup reduced oil mayonnaise
  • 1 cup mixed sprouts
  • ½ cup low fat plain yoghurt
  • 8 spears tenderstem broccoli, steamed until just al dente (or asparagus if preferred)
  • 1 tsp Natural Herbs & Spices Vegetable Seasoning
  • ½ tsp finely minced garlic
  • 2 cups sugarsnap peas
  • 4 Tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed juice, not the bottled one)
  • 1 cup wild rocket
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 10 basil leaves AND edible fennel flowers (optional)


Make the avocado dressing by blitzing together all the dressing ingredients in your food processor until it’s velvety smooth. If you prefer the dressing a bit runnier, add another tablespoon or two of water. Taste it and add a few more shakes of our Natural Herbs & Spices Veggie Seasoning if you think it needs more punch. If you like it really lemony, you can also add another squeeze of lemon juice – let your palate guide you.

Slice the steamed chicken breasts and season them generously with Natural Herbs & Spices Salt and black pepper. Build your bowl by adding the chicken to the rest of the bowl ingredients. Serve with the avocado dressing.
